I hope that you will enjoy exploring my website and meeting some of my felt creations. You are welcome to get in touch using the contact form if you have any questions.Embroidery. I work with a variety of threads and stitch onto a pale neutral coloured cotton calico or linen blend fabric. I think of stitching a bit like drawing and painting with thread; drawing shapes, making marks to create texture and building up areas of colour and pattern.
My embroidery patterns generally have outlines worked in backstitch or stem stitch, and then use seed stitch and straight stitches to fill in areas and create areas of pattern. The odd French knot will often find its way in too!I love the possibilities of embroidery and the range of marks and textures that can be built up with stitch. My patterns tend to utilise back stitch or stem stitch to 'draw' outlines, before using straight stitches of varying lengths to fill in space and add areas of pattern.All of my poseable 3D felt animals are sent on their way to their new homes with an embossed certificate of authenticity and care card. I also create the occasional 2D piece, these are either framed or finished to be free hanging wall pieces.
Decorations are embellished with felt appliqu é, embroidery and beads and are single sided, backed with plain felt in a colour to complement the design and are stuffed to give a nice padded look.
